Online Ordering Instructions

You may order online without opening an account, but establishing an account will allow you to view the status of your order and your order history. Additionally, account information is saved so that it can be accessed when placing future orders, expediting the process. To set up your account, click on "Go" on the right hand side of the screen next to where it says "LOGIN". You can register by clicking "If you have not registered as a user before, click here" and entering the appropriate information. Once you've set up your account, or if you decide to purchase without an account, click on the category of product you'd like to purchase along the blue bar at the top of the screen, or type in the item's name or number in the "CATALOG QUICK ORDER" space at the right. The "bread crumbs" under the Shop tab, to the right of "Home" will help you keep track of where you are on the site. Where available, choose colors, styles, sizes, line options, and the quantities that you want to purchase. When you click on the "Add to Cart" button the item will be added to your shopping cart. If you change your mind later, you can remove the item from your cart. When you are finished shopping, click the "Checkout" button in the box on the top right hand side of the screen. You will be guided through billing and shipping screens where you'll enter the appropriate information. Once completed, if you are sure you want to place the order, you will click the "confirm" button to transmit the order to Into The Wind.

International Orders

Into The Wind ships worldwide. You can place your order through the mail, by fax, online or over the phone if you speak English. Let us know what you would like to order, item numbers, quantities, color choices, your correct billing and shipping address and method of payment. A current phone number and email address are very important in the event we have questions regarding your order and need to contact you. Please note that Into the Wind is not responsible for duties, tariffs, or custom charges that incur when shipping out of the United States. Packages can be insured to most countries, but not to all destinations. Also not all kites can be shipped to all countries. Please see our online International Ordering information for additional details.

INTERNATIONAL:
If your item is over 42 inches in length it cannot be shipped to most countries. All items can be shipped to Canada, England and by AIR to Japan.

After 27 years of flying every kite that we could get our hands on, we're taking the next step and making our own kites. Working with German kite designer, Christoph Fokken, we're raising the bar on kite performance and quality.

If you join the American Kitefliers Association you will be eligible for member benefits.
Special Order Products

If you are looking for a particular item that you don't see on our website or in our print catalog please contact us and we will let you know if it is available along with pricing and delivery information. We purchase from many kite manufacturers and frequently special order items for our customers. Special orders are subject to additional terms: they must be prepaid (a credit card is fine), once placed they can not be cancelled and special order items are non-returnable.

Shipping & Delivery

We ship promptly - usually within 24 hours from the time an order is placed online, over the phone or faxed to us. If you mail in an order, allow 2 to 3 weeks for delivery. In a rush? We offer overnight and 2-day delivery options! Just place an order online or over the phone before noon (Mountain Time Zone) and we'll ship your order the same day, to get it to you in just 1 to 2 working days! Delivery times outside of the continental U.S. will vary.

Domestic orders are usually shipped within 24 hours by United Parcel Service (UPS) Ground and international orders are sent United States Postal Service unless an express delivery method is requested. Delivery time is based on the destination but typically your package will arrive four to five business days after shipment within the continental United States. Two-day air express delivery is available for an extra $16.00 (an order placed Monday morning will arrive sometime on Wednesday). We also offer overnight air express for an additional $45.00. (An order placed Monday morning will arrive Tuesday morning.) Air express orders must be placed before noon (Mountain Time) in order to ship the same day. An order that is mailed to Into The Wind is normally processed the same day we receive it and is shipped out the next day. Please allow one week for your order to reach us. Orders sent from outside the contiguous U.S. may take longer.

Reserving Unavailable Products

If an item on your order is temporarily out of stock, it's placed on a separate order called a "backorder." When we notify you about a backordered item, we'll include the expected ship date. When the item comes in, we'll send it to you with no additional shipping charges. We try to avoid backorders whenever possible, but sometimes demand exceeds our expectations. Creating a backorder guarantees that you will receive the product as soon as it becomes available.

Damaged in Transit

If your order was damaged in shipping call United Parcel Service at 800-742-5877 or the Post Office at 800-275-8777 and report the damage. They'll start a claim and notify us so that we can send you a replacement. Do not send the damaged items to us. Both United Parcel Service and the Post Office require the recipient to file damage claims. Keep the box and all packing materials, in case the carrier wants to check them. Cartons without a postmark have been shipped by United Parcel Service.
Our Return Policy

If you need to return an item to us, send it to: Into The Wind, 1408 Pearl St., Boulder, CO 80302. Please fill out the form on the back of the packing list that was included with your order or include a note explaining why you are returning the merchandise. Tell us if you would like an exchange or a refund. For your own protection, be sure to insure your parcel. Return it to us via United Parcel Service ground service or parcel post. Returns are typically processed 5-7 business days after they are received at our location.
