dmitch31, 2007-05-24 This is a pretty cool kite for a beginner. I had never flown a stunt kite before, and I was able to get this kite up immediately and zip all around the sky with it. But keep in mind, you'll need more than a light breeze to fly this kite.
The directions that come with it look like they are printed on an inkjet printer and are very poor. The pictures on the instructions are very tiny. If you've never set up a stunt kite before, you'll be scratching your head for a few minutes.
The lines I received with the kite did not look exactly like the ones in the photos in the instructions, but that's fine. I actually like the handles I received much better than the hoops that are in the photos. The directions make reference to "the loops" at the ends of the lines, but mine had none, so I simply had to tie up my own.
There are two bridles (one on each side of the kite) and they are each individually tied down with lark's head knots to retaining loops at the bottom of the kite. This is done to keep the lines on the kite from becoming a tangled mess. For someone familiar with parafoil stunt kites, perhaps that would be obvious, but for a beginner, it's not so obvious and leaves you wondering how lines attach to this kite. Disconnect the two bridles from the loops at the bottom of the kite and then it will be clear. |
