Have the moon on a string

Have the moon on a stringLet this beautiful design eclipse the less celestial kites in the sky. Nearly 10-ft across, the Moon Kite by Lam Hoac is a graceful, steady flier. It’s called a Moon Kite because it’s the shape of the first quarter moon. Like the moon, it stays in one place, perfectly still in the sky. It does this best in steady light, 6 to 18 mph winds, but is surprisingly stable even in gusty winds. This design is based on a traditional 350-year old Vietnamese kite made of bamboo and paper. Unfortunately, these kites cannot be disassembled, which is what inspired Lam to design it using modern materials. Made of ripstop nylon with a carbon frame, it fits in a 67/37” case. When he was a small boy, he used to make these kites of bamboo and paper. Still a popular kite design in Vietnam, they’re still made with bamboo and paper. 9'-0" x 2'-7". Use 150-lb. to 250-lb. Dacron line.
