FitzRoy's Storm Glass

Put it in your windowsill and it will tell you if a storm's a brewin'

In the 1860s, Royal Navy Admiral Robert FitzRoy promoted these mystifying cylinders which he purported grew crystals which could predict coming storms. This model features a guide to deciphering the crystals within on the outside of the glass.

While the formation of crystals is in fact more related to changes in temperature than in atmospheric pressure, these classic devices are a fun addition to any bookshelf or windowsill.

Stands 5.5" tall and features a beechwood base.
