At first glance, not much has changed: the shape has become more modern, the wing has one more cell. This has changed the aspect ratio, span and area have remained about the same.
But the big difference only becomes apparent under the hood: The profiles are now supported by a strong nylon thread in the edge. As a result, the profile is cleanly formed right from the start. Higher profile fidelity means higher efficiency, which results in more speed and more powerful traction.
A nice side effect is that the profile support can also be used to optimize the scale without creating additional harmful resistance through additional scale legs. We thereby achieve a further increase in the flyable wind range.
Otherwise we rely on the tried and tested:
· Thin, low-drag profile
· high peak for better performance
· thinnest Dyneema bridle lines
· V-profiles to reduce bridle lines
Equipped in this way, the Lycos can develop its impetuous power and speed even in moderate winds. Plenty of opportunity to really push yourself as a pilot.
